Community Improvement of Algoma

Main Street Program

Volunteer & Support Opportunities

Richmond Park

A prime example of what can be accomplished through public/private investment and volunteerism.

Richmond Park, Phase 1 of the Main Street Design Committee's Harbor Walkway project, was completed and dedicated in 2004.

The Main Street Program works because of the enthusiasm and dedication of volunteers and community support.  The response in Algoma has been tremendous with high levels of involvement from both the public and private sector.  Volunteers range from board and committee membership to events and projects participation.  Volunteer involvement is truly the driving force behind the program's successes.  Financial contributions from the city, businesses and individuals are the main source of financial support in this self-help effort.  The Wisconsin Main Street Program staff, within the Department of Commerce, provides technical support.
